Cycling can become much more than a sport. It can become a concrete instrument of solidarity. This vision is the foundation of the "We for Them and for Peace" project, promoted by G-Team ONLUS and supported by Crono . This initiative combines sport, values, and humanitarian commitment, with tangible results.
G-Team was officially founded in 2008. Its roots, however, date back to 2007, in Camogli. In a simple setting, around a table, four friends— Andrea Ciocca, Cristian Fiorentini, Francesco Leggio , and Francesco Maselli —imagined a small adventure tied to the world of sailing. The initial goal was to participate in the Barcolana regatta . But something changed along the way. The idea evolved. The desire to give a deeper meaning to that experience was born. Not just sport, but also solidarity.
From here, G-Team took shape. A project founded on clear values: honesty, commitment, transparency. And above all, volunteering, understood as the free donation of one's time , resources, and skills to help those in need.
Cycling as a message
Within this process, "We for Them and for Peace" was conceived: a project that uses the bicycle as a universal symbol. Simplicity. Effort. Commitment. Elements that perfectly represent both sport and the human journey. Thus was born the "Bicycle of Peace." A symbolic vehicle that has traversed Italy, reaching key locations and institutions . On June 13, 2023, it will also enter the European Parliament in Strasbourg for the first time in history. The project unites cycling and solidarity under the value of peace. It demonstrates that even small gestures can have a big impact.
The project develops along two main lines. The first is humanitarian. In Italy and Ukraine, G-Team supports pediatric hospitals through direct donations of medical equipment. Not money, but tangible tools . An approach that ensures transparency and immediacy. Among the beneficiaries are the Maggiore della Carità Hospital and a pediatric center in Lviv, which received essential diagnostic devices.
The second objective is educational. With the "Peace in Schools" project, children and young people are involved in creative activities. Drawings, thoughts, reflections . Everything is collected and transformed into a traveling exhibition. A way to raise awareness among the new generations.
A three-year journey
From 2023 to 2025, the "Peace Bicycle" traveled thousands of kilometers, stopping at schools, hospitals, events, and businesses . Each meeting became an opportunity to raise funds and spread the message. At the end of the journey, the bicycle was auctioned off, along with a book chronicling every stage. Every kilometer. Every gesture of solidarity. The result? More than 30.000 donations raised.
Along the way, Crono provided its footwear and technical support: a contribution consistent with the values of cycling: commitment, endurance, determination. The same values that drive change.
The "We for Them and for Peace" project demonstrates that cycling can be a powerful social force. A vehicle capable of uniting people, regions, and diverse cultures. And above all, a concrete tool for building a better future, starting with the youngest.
