Suzuki Mountain Day: Sustainability and Territory for Earth Day

On Earth Day (last Wednesday, April 22), Suzuki strengthened its environmental commitment with Suzuki Mountain Day. This concrete initiative combines volunteering, land conservation, and mountain enhancement. The project involved employees and local communities in a day dedicated to maintaining alpine trails.

The activity took place in Coassolo Torinese, in the Lanzo Valleys, in the province of Turin. Forty-nine Suzuki employees, supported by volunteers from the Italian Alpine Club , worked together to clean and restore several sections of mountain trails.

The project had an immediate impact. The trails were made safer and more accessible, a tangible benefit for hikers, residents, and outdoor enthusiasts. Trail maintenance is, in fact, key to sustainable mountain enjoyment.

The work undertaken takes on even greater significance in view of the Devil's Bridge Trail . This event attracts numerous athletes and trail running enthusiasts every year. Improving the condition of the trails means ensuring greater safety and sustainability for the event. In this way, Suzuki also indirectly contributes to the world of outdoor sports, an area increasingly connected to cycling and endurance disciplines, where respect for the environment is fundamental.

Engagement and corporate culture

Suzuki Mountain Day isn't just an environmental initiative. It's also an internal engagement project. The company has always promoted a culture of social responsibility. Employees become active participants, personally participating in caring for the local area . This approach strengthens the connection between business and the environment. It creates a virtuous model that can be replicated in other contexts.

Suzuki Mountain Day is part of a much broader sustainability program. In recent years, the brand has developed several environmental initiatives with a tangible impact:

Suzuki Green Friday : Part of the Black Friday sales goes to green projects. Around 100 native trees were planted in Turin, creating the Bosco del Toro and Bosco Suzuki parks.

Suzuki Bike Day : an event dedicated to sustainable mobility. It attracted over 8.000 participants and promoted bicycle use.

I 'm lighting less with Suzuki : joining the national energy saving day, with reduced consumption and significant CO2 savings.

Pulifondali and Pulispiagge : a project developed with FIPSAS for waste collection on Italian beaches and seabeds.

Suzuki Bee Garden : creating spaces dedicated to pollinators, with bee hotels and gardens spread across the area.

Suzuki Clean Up : a global initiative that has been active for over 12 years, with thousands of employees involved in waste collection.

Added to this is digital innovation. The Suzuki website integrates a "sleep" function that reduces energy consumption when the page is not active . This technical detail contributes to reducing emissions.
