Embolden: Liv Renews Its Aluminum Full-suspension MTB

Liv presents the new version of the Embolden , its robust and accessible aluminum full-suspension mountain bike . The new model has been completely revamped in its frame, following the same philosophy used for the new Pique Advanced SL, launched in late 2025.

The rear shock absorber is now a single-pivot , semi-integrated into the frame, giving the new Embolden a cleaner, more modern design (and the travel has also increased, from 120 to 130 mm). Furthermore, and this is far from a minor and usual detail, the price has not only not increased, but has actually decreased.

Aluminum frame and semi-integrated suspension

As we just mentioned, the new Embolden is built around a completely redesigned frame , constructed from ALUXX hydroformed aluminum . This is a proprietary alloy developed by Liv, which has allowed for a lighter and more resistant structure , making it ideal for a bike positioned in the more accessible end of the trail segment.

The main work was then done on the rear suspension and a series of refinements that make the bike even more ready to tackle more technical trails and longer rides. The semi-integrated FlexPoint rear suspension offers 130 mm of travel , 10 mm more than the previous model, and is paired with a 140 mm Giant STL 34 dual air fork up front. This combination guarantees excellent traction and control on roots, rocks, and rough terrain —in short, everything that can be found under the wheels along the trail.

The oversized OverDrive head tube also contributes to the responsiveness of the new Embolden , as does the increased bottom bracket area, which improves power transfer when you push hard on the pedals.

Tailored trail geometry and handling

The modern trail geometry combines stability, control, and efficiency , allowing you to transition effortlessly from simple trails to technical singletrack. A distinctive feature is the choice of different wheel sizes , a distinctive feature of Liv, which always places great emphasis on these aspects. The XS and S frames feature 27,5” rims , a configuration designed to facilitate handling for smaller riders. The M and L sizes, however, feature 29” wheels , the standard setup for those seeking maximum smoothness and ability to overcome obstacles.

Great attention has also been paid to practicality and silence, thanks to the further optimized integrated cable routing and a printed chain guard that fully covers the chainstay, which reduces noise and vibrations even on the roughest terrain. Finally, completing the geometry-handling package is the telescopic seatpost, an accessory that has now become essential for this type of bike , which is therefore confirmed also in this new version of the Embolden.

Other features and prices

The new Embolden is fitted with a Shimano CUES 10-speed single chainring groupset , with an 11-48 cassette and a 34-tooth chainring in sizes XS and S, and a 32-tooth chainring in sizes M and L.

The price , as mentioned, is absolutely competitive and confirms this model as an excellent option for starting to have fun on the trails. The previous version was offered at €2299, while this newly launched version is already available on the Liv website for €2199.
