Anywhere Cycling Club: A New Way to Experience Cycling

A new way to experience cycling and biking, from a perspective that focuses on fun, sharing, and being together. A different way of pedaling, not in the gesture which remains unchanged, but in the purpose and intention. With a double event, the first one on the weekend of Strade Bianche on the dirt roads of Siena, and the second on the Ligurian Riviera for the Milan-Sanremo. Among the protagonists of these two initiatives by Sportful, destined to become increasingly larger and more itinerant, there is Daniel Oss

"The project is called Anywhere Cycling Club ," explains Daniel Oss, "and it's an initiative created by Sportful with the goal of bringing cycling and events to a wider audience. Hence the name Anywhere , because cycling and biking shouldn't have narrow boundaries, but broad ones that embrace everyone ."

Community

A community that rides together, where everyone can recognize and identify, without losing their identity and bringing something of themselves. Not something exclusive, but something that can make everyone feel part of the same club.

"Sportful's goal is also to make itself known and spread its message," says Oss, who is also an ambassador for the brand, "which is already beyond its embryonic stage. The starting point, the initial event, was a social ride with Peter Sagan (former professional cyclist and three-time world champion, ed.) in London . Now the goal is to reach all of Europe, and with the first two events in Tuscany and Liguria, we've taken an important first step."

Live and tell

Cycling doesn't thrive solely on racing, but also on the many events and initiatives that arise around it. Pedaling, filming, telling stories, socializing, and bearing witness . Creating entertainment, without forgetting the beauty of being together and appreciating the moment. Making the bike a tool for bringing people together , for meeting up and traveling to discover a territory.

«On the weekend of the Strade Bianche in Siena – Daniel Oss explains to us again – We started with a ride on Friday on dirt roads where we took clients but also friends and enthusiasts on the routeWhile on Saturday, which was the day of the professional race, we went on the bike route, passing through crucial points and experiencing the atmosphere of the race from withinThe crowd, the anticipation, the excitement, and the celebration surrounding an event of this caliber. On Sunday we concluded the weekend by taking part in the granfondo and experiencing it each in our own way.».

Cycling as an opportunity

Cycling is a way to socialize, and over time this concept is becoming increasingly entrenched among enthusiasts. Not just going out on the bike, but also stopping and appreciating , but also experiencing a race, savoring the warmth of the crowd and the anticipation.

With the Milan-Sanremo (run last weekend, ed.), we wanted to propose a similar concept but with a different organization. Since the race is a flat route, we organized ourselves to ride the final kilometers. So we met in Alassio to follow the Via Aurelia in this social ride, stopping at bars and slowly approaching the finish with Cipressa and Poggio . Showing those who have never been to a race what it's like to experience the anticipation, with the crowds around and the atmosphere heating up, is something unique. It was unique for me too, in a certain sense, because I've been racing for so many years, but something like this took me back to when I was little and I used to ride my bike along the route with my grandfather, waiting for the race.

"This is kind of what we wanted to do with Sportful," Oss concludes. " Pedaling together and being together, experiencing the cycling community . You find yourself pedaling with new people, who, like us, were there waiting for the race. Or maybe you stop with a group of grillers and wait together while eating a sandwich ."

"I think it's a wonderful experience. We want to bring it to different races, because every event has its own unique characteristics and history. And thanks to the bike, we can unite all these elements into one great design ."
